This listing is for one wheel-thrown handmade lantern with a turquoise and sand glaze on a white porcelain clay. This is one of my favorite lanterns, it is a little bit larger in size, puts off a lot of light when lit up.

When i started making my turtle lanterns this year i was thinking about the turtle hatchlings and how you keep your porch lights off during nesting season so the turtle hatchlings can make it safely to the water and not be misguided. I thought these lanterns are a great way to use alternate light during that time.

The lantern is hand thrown on a potters wheel, then it is hand carved, and put through a bisque firing. I then hand paint and finally finish with a cone 10 high firing. These pieces are amazing on the lanai, outdoor patio or indoors as well. You can also set the solar light in the window to charge and then set it back on the lantern at night. A small votive candle can be burned directly in the lantern as well (not included). The included solar light comes on automatically from dusk to dawn. These lanterns put off a magical pattern around them at night when they are lit and look amazing all day in the sun as well.
